What is the cost of a curved stairlift?
We often get asked “whats a ball park cost of a curved stairlift?”
Most stairlifts companies will not give you this information over the phone in the hope they can get a salesmen into your home, Go Independent dont work like that.
It is true it is difficult to give an accurate price of a curved stairlift over the phone but its not impossible to give a ball park figure with just a few simple questions.
The reason its more difficult to give an accurate price for a stairlift with a curved track is because if you do have corners or bends on your stairwell, the track, which is the rail which the carraige or seat of the stairlift runs along , needs to be bespokely made to fit snuggly into the contours of your staircase . Its for this reason the track needs to be bespokely made.
There is very little difference in the carriage of a straight stairlift as compared to a curved stairlift. Therefore the costs are very similar but if you had a straight set of stairs any stairlift supplier could buy this off the rail (no pun intended!) rom the manufacturer or buy it second hand and refurbish it and then re sell.
This is the reason the cost of a curved stairlift is greatly inflated to that of a straight stairlift.
The number of bends or curves and the degree of the bends will also have an effect on the cost as will the length of the track.
